Courageous Faith is Contagious Faith

1. Courage is foundational to being a Christian and fulfilling your God-given Destiny

It takes courage to make moral choices in an immoral world. (Dan 1:8) “Daniel purposed in his heart he would not defile himself.” Daniel made some hard choices, but they were good choices, based upon his belief in the Word of God. Daniel’s three friends followed him because Daniel’s courageous faith was contagious! Life is made up of choices - moral, relational, financial, vocational, ministry, family, etc.

David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed for the LORD my God will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.” - (1 Chron 28:18-21)

2. Weakness is the opposite to strength

Weakness is an invitation to the enemy. It always precedes surrender, but for us quitting is not an option. Being strong means, you take control - you deal with the issues!

(Prov 24:10) “If you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small.”

3. The prerequisite for being strong and doing heroic deeds is ‘Knowing God’, not just knowing about Him

(Dan 11:32) “The people who know their God shall be strong and carry out exploits.” The better you know God, the greater your trust in Him, and the easier it is to be courageous in the face of adversity.

4. Face your fears head on. You can’t fix what you won’t face.

Every fear faced and overcome becomes a building block, and each success gives a new sense of confidence. You grow in courage as you face those crippling fears. Every time you miss a God-given opportunity because of fear, it puts another brick in the wall keeping you from your destiny. Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the conquest of it. Feel the fear and do it anyway! There are times when I’ve been tempted to flee but I stayed because I was committed.

5. Example of Courageous Faith becoming Contagious Faith

(2 Kings 2:9-10) “Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What I may do for you before I am taken away from you? Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, If you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so.”

Elisha did receive the double portion and did twice the miracles of Elijah! The double portion is not for the lazy, careless, or disobedient. It’s for the diligent, faithful, and obedient!

Courageous Faith and Contagious Faith produce Multiplication and Miracles!

Yours for the release of the double portion on the Body of Christ!
